We take a "Privacy by Design" approach. HiveAudit only collects the minimum data required to provide actionable website audits.
What We Collect
When you use HiveAudit, we process the following data:
- Submitted URLs: The website addresses you ask us to audit.
- Audit Results: The technical data extracted (e.g., meta tags, headers).
- Technical Logs: Anonymous data for rate-limiting and security.
- Contact Information: Only if you voluntarily fill out our support form.
We do NOT collect PII:
- We do not track visitors to your audited website.
- We do not store full-page content mirrors or persistent screenshots.
- We do not require registration, so we have no identity database.
Data Retention
To ensure performance and privacy, we follow a strict retention schedule:
- Audit Caching: Results are cached for up to 24 hours to prevent redundant scans.
- Purging: Technical data is automatically purged from temporary caches every 30 days.
- Local Storage: URLs are stored in your local browser storage (localStorage) only.
Third-Party Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We only share data with trusted service providers as necessary:
- AI Processing: Issue descriptions are sent to our AI provider for remediation advice. No private identity is included.
- Analytics: We use anonymized analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns.
Important: We do not use your submitted URLs or results to train AI models.
Your Rights
Under GDPR and CCPA, you have the right to:
- Request deletion of audit data associated with your URL.
- Opt-out of non-essential cookies.
- Request a copy of our methodology.
